BRAVO® pH Monitor
The BRAVO® pH Monitor is a test that measures and records the pH in your esophagus. This test helps your physician determine if you have gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It can also be performed to determine the effectiveness of medications or surgical treatment for GERD.
During an upper endoscopy, a small capsule the size of a gel cap is attached to the wall of the esophagus. The capsule transmits readings by radio telecommunications to a receiver worn on your belt or waistband. You will press various buttons on the receiver when you experience your reflux symptoms.
Once your monitoring period is complete, your doctor will analyze the data in the received to diagnose your symptoms.
